But right now the Ninja Creami is finally back in stock on Amazon, and it's even on sale. The Ninja Creami is one of the most versatile ice cream makers out there.

The newly launched Ninja Creami Deluxe is not only bigger in capacity than the standard version of this best ice cream maker but also has new technology to make your mixes creamier and more delectable.

Considering how loud and pricey the Creami Deluxe is, we don't think that the Creami is worth the cash. Instead, we recommend investing in a standalone ice cream maker, which is easier to use and produces more consistent results. And if you like making smoothie bowls, a blender is our preferred gadget of choice.

We made the same nice cream recipe in both a blender and the CREAMi to see if there really was a difference. The first thing we noticed is that you can immediately produce your nice cream in the blender because all you need to do to "freeze" it is add ice cubes.

Freezing is crucial: It's paramount that the base is completely frozen into a solid block for the Ninja Creami to work effectively. Texture is key: The 24-hour freeze time results in smaller ice crystals and enhances the dessert's creaminess. For the most creamy ice cream and smoothest sorbet, this matters!

The Ninja Creami contains a Smoothie Bowl setting and the Ninja Creami Deluxe does not. The Ninja Creami Deluxe has frozen drink settings that the Creami lacks. Overall, the Ninja Creami has fewer settings with only seven, and the Creami Deluxe has 11.

Ninja Creami Breeze

This is the smaller Ninja Creami, which comes with eight programs compared to the Deluxe model's 12: ice cream, lite ice cream, sorbet, milkshake, smoothie bowl, gelato, respin and mix-in.

You might already be familiar with the Ninja Creami — especially if you're on TikTok. It's an ice cream maker that went viral this past summer and sold out in many stores and online. It comes in two different sizes: the seven-in-one version and the deluxe, 11-in-1 version.

After your first spin, sometimes you open it and find that your ice cream is crumbly or powdery. Don't stop now. Just add a tablespoon or two of liquid and spin on respin. If your ice cream has been in the freezer a long time or your freezer is extra cold, you may even have to repeat the respin several times.

A Creami is not a blender (there are plenty of top-notch Ninja blenders if that's what you're after), and the user manual makes that very clear. You don't use this machine for crushing ice or blending loose ingredients.

Ninja recommends freezing Creami bases for 24 hours, but we've had success with 8 to 12 hour freezing times, too. In our experience, freezing bases for 24 hours or longer usually meant they'd be very chalky on the first run through the Creami and require multiple respins.

A third model, the Ninja Creami Breeze, is now discontinued, but we've tested all three models in the Good Housekeeping Institute.
