You know that old adage about Hell having no fury like a woman scorned? How about the fury of a former champion out for revenge on the people who put her out of commission? We’ll see some of that on tonight’s not really live edition of WWE SmackDown, less than 24 hours away from Crown Jewel.

Bianca Belair will get a title shot in Saudi Arabia against IYO SKY, but her beef is really with all of Damage CTRL. And since Dakota Kai hasn’t been cleared to return to action yet, that only leaves Bayley to face her fury.

As the annoying commercials for Colin Cowherd’s show say, good luck with that.

Other matches on tonight’s card include Kevin Owens facing Austin Theory and Pretty Deadly taking on the Brawling Brutes in something called a Donnybrook Rules match, which sounds like it shouldn’t favor the Yes Boy duo.

But perhaps the most intriguing part of SmackDown could be the one segment that wasn’t filmed in front of the crowd at last week’s show: Logan Paul and Rey Mysterio having their weigh-in. Does that mean something interesting will happen there? Could there be some unexpected guest stars of some sort? Does there need to be a weigh-in when it’s already very clear that one competitor is much larger than the other?

We don’t know the answers, and the only way to find out is to watch along with us.

WWE SmackDown results the night before Crown Jewel:

(please scroll down for full details on any match or segment in bold)

  • LA Knight tries to get the last word before Saudi Arabia, but Roman Reigns wants his too
  • Kevin Owens def. Austin Theory by pinfallwith Grayson Waller watching on guest commentary
  • Bianca Belair talks about how she wants vengeance, but she is attacked by Damage CTRL and Nick Aldis and his helpers have to rush in to break up the melee
  • Logan Paul shakes hands with Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits, and Lashley uses him as an example of someone who takes what he wants; also B-Fab stops by and asks to talk to Lashley
  • Shotzi and Charlotte Flair def. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven by pinfall
  • Solo Sikoa and John Cena have one more confrontation, but Sikoa learns it’s no small task to hang with Cena on the mic
  • Nick Aldis gives Bayley some bad news: Damage CTRL is banned from ringside for her match with Bianca Belair, though IYO SKY tells Bayley she can handle things herself
  • Pretty Deadly def. Brawling Brutes by pinfall in a Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook
  • Aldis only has a brief moment for Heyman, who tells the GM that he might want a lot of medical personnel on hand tomorrow for Knight
  • Logan Paul and Rey Mysterio do the weigh-in thing, complete with one of them smacking the other
  • Bianca Belair def. Bayley by pinfall, then puts Bayley through the announce table to end the show

LA Knight, Roman Reigns get in their last verbal jabs before Saudi Arabia

Knight says 1200 days is impressive, but it’s also impressive how quick they can come to an end. He reminds the world that Roman Reigns tried to spear him last week but got dropped on his head with a BFT. The Megastar says this is a hostile takeover that will spell the end of Roman’s reign.

Will the Tribal Chief let this kind of talk go without a response? Apparently not, as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and Paul Heyman make their way to the ring. Reigns stares holes in his challenger from the apron before climbing between the ropes and asking Heyman for a mic.

Reigns says he’s going to introduce himself one time since Knight is having a hard time understanding exactly who he is: the Tribal Chief, the Head of the Table and the face of WWE. He says he expected people to step up while he was away but never expected it to be Knight, and he gives LA credit for getting so many of the fans on his side.

The champ says he’s pushed the business forward, making it into a multi-billion-dollar industry. What has Knight done?

LA says it’s Roman who doesn’t understand, because he’s not coming at him the same way other people have, and his status as Megastar has come because he lives it every day. Knight warns Reigns that he better finish him if he gets a shot, because if not, he will find Roman and the only bloodline left will be running between his eyes.

There’s a very brief staredown before a bunch of officials and referees ensure the two men don’t come to blows.

Kevin Owens gets to punch, then pin, Austin Theory

Theory’s partner Grayson Waller joins the announcers to keep a close eye on this, though he first has to relive the one punch that hit both of them. Backstage, Theory disagrees that he has a punchable face before he comes out for the match.

Theory gets to be the one punching someone in the face early on, but a big right hand and an atomic drop put a swift end to his early momentum. Waller is unhappy about it, and he winces as KO drives his partner into the floor before a commercial break.

It’s Owens who needs to kick out to avoid a pinfall after the break, though Corey Graves still thinks Waller is nervous. Theory connects on a big rolling Blockbuster that’s good for a near fall.

Alas, the next big move goes in favor of KO, who also connects on a Popup Powerbomb. A Stunner is next, and that’s all she wrote for Theory.

NBD, Shotzi just gets the most decorated women's wrestler ever as her tag team partner

Though the tag team champs mocked Shotzi for not having any friends and were skeptical that anyone would want to team with her, she somehow managed to get the best possible mystery partner. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn are shown watching on a backstage monitor, suggesting that they’ve got their eyes on those titles.

Shotzi very quickly finds herself fighting one-on-two, but a tag to Charlotte helps solve that problem. Flair lights up both her foes with chops, suplexes Green and kips up.

Even with the odds against her, Flair stays one step ahead, wiping out Green with a big boot to win it.

Solo Sikoa and John Cena have one more confrontation

Solo isn’t going to cut a promo, is he? Not with Paul Heyman alongside, probably not. Heyman says this is close to the end of days for Cena, and this isn’t the way he wanted it to end. But after Cena picked a fight with The Bloodline, Roman Reigns made the call for Solo.

Wait, Sikoa does want to talk! And specifically he wants to talk to Cena face to face. When the GOAT obliges him, Solo informs John that Roman told him to give Cena a mic to say goodbye while he still can … because come tomorrow, Cena won’t be able to.

Even though he’s hoarse, Cena lives up to his promise of cooking Sikoa in less than 90 seconds, dropping the mic and leaving.

Pretty Deadly beats Brawling Brutes at their own game

Maybe Pretty Deadly should have studied up on the rules for this one, which is that there really are no rules. With that in mind, the Brutes attack them during their entrance, then get right to work with some weapons.

Shillelaghs? Yep those are appropriate for the Brutes, as are some fake beer mugs and a small bar. But Pretty Deadly is able to put those to use as well, and they’ve got themselves the momentum before too long.

Ridge Holland shows off his strength by fighting off shillelagh attacks from both of his opponents, and Butch takes flight from the top rope to the floor.

After some ads, both members of Pretty Deadly end up in submission holds at the same time, but they clasp hands and draw strength from each other to get through the pain. Once they’re free, they smash a barstool over Holland’s back and hit him with some double team offense, but Butch hustles to make the save.

It looks like anyone’s match as all four men are down. A shillelagh shot won’t keep Butch down, and Holland powerbombs Elton Prince through a ringside table. Kit Wilson takes a Brogue Kick from Butch when he turns around, but he manages to kick out at two.

Just when it appears Wilson might be going through a table too, Prince smashes a glass over Butch’s head, and Pretty Deadly unites to send Butch through the table instead to win it.

Logan Paul and Rey Mysterio weigh in, but not without a little violence

Nick Aldis and some referees are on hand as Paul steps on the scale first, tipping the scales at 213 pounds. Mysterio? Well, he weighs a bit less at 175.

Aldis tells them no contact is allowed, but Rey smacks Logan, who is a bit put off by the whole thing.

I guess that was worth it?

Bayley decides a three count isn't enough against Bayley

Belair wants to get her a piece of Bayley ASAP and wastes no time running through a sampling of her trademark offense. That includes a handspring moonsault for a quick near fall, forcing Bayley to regroup for a moment on the outside.

Chasing Bayley around and back into the ring doesn’t slow Bianca down a bit, though being strung over the middle rope and smashed into the ringpost by a running knee does.

Belair hasn’t rallied while we’re away enjoying more commercials, and Bayley is doing her utmost to keep The EST from getting her mojo back. Bianca smashes her way back into it with right hands and a shoulder tackle, then drops more fists on Bayley in the corner as the fans count along.

A spinebuster halts Bayley’s next charge and has Bianca planning something in the corner. A superplex leaves them both on the mat, with Belair eventually covering for two.

Bayley dodges a moonsault and pulls her foe’s hair, using it to run Bianca hard into the ringpost. Ouch.

After Bayley gets a two count with a top rope elbow, she mulls her next move and eventually decides to clear the announce table. Can she powerbomb Bianca? Not on the first try, as Belair drags her up to the apron … and this time it’s Bayley’s turn to eat the post.

Belair eyes the table but decides to take it back into the ring. She can’t get the KOD off, though, and nearly gets rolled up for three.

Moment later, the second attempt at a KOD is on target, giving Bianca a hard-earned victory. But Belair isn’t quite finished: As she eyes the table again, she decides to send Bayley through it as SmackDown goes off the air.
