The boat itself was constructed from precision CNC-machined okume marine plywood parts. The individual parts were glued together using high-strength epoxy. Once the hull was completed, both the inside and outside were covered in fiberglass cloth and epoxy, creating a lightweight, yet very strong and stiff laminated structure that is completely sealed off from moisture. To protect the laminated structure from UV rays, the entire boat was finished with six coats of marine-grade spar varnish. This glossy finish looks fantastic in the water and helps the boat to glide effortlessly as well.

This kayak has been carefully built by hand. The varnish on the outside was completely redone in 2012, and it has been paddled only a couple times since then. The boat has always been stored in a heated garage and protected from the elements. In addition to the foot-controlled rudder, the other two co*ckpits also have adjustable foot braces and the seats have been upgraded from the standard seats to Creature Comfort seats. It has watertight storage compartments in the bow and stern that can be accessed either through the deck hatches or through the 6" diameter deck plates in the bulk heads. This makes it possible to store long items like tent poles or fishing rods that would not fit through the deck hatches. The co*ckpit area is open beneath the deck, making it ideal for young children or animals to take a little rest or get out of the sun/wind/rain. A detachable deck mounted compass is located directly in front of the rear co*ckpit to aid in navigation while steering.
