Block Characteristics

Blast Resistance LowBlocks with Low Blast Resistance are easily destroyed by weak explosions like Ghast Fireballs.
Transparency TransparentThis block is fully transparent and allows light to pass through completely without diffusing it. Most transparent blocks are mob proof and will not allow mobs to spawn on top of them.
Flammability Not FlammableThough you can place fire on top or around this block. The block itself will never catch fire.
Piston Interaction Destroyed by PistonsThis block is destroyed when a piston is pushed into it or when a piston pushes another block in its place.
Interaction with Water Destroyed by WaterThis block is destroyed when it is placed in water or when water flows into it.

How to Mine a Frogspawn

Tools to Mine the Block Any Tool

Though you can mine Frogspawn instantly with any tool, including your fist. It will not drop any item in Survival Mode. The only way to obtain the Frogspawn block is through the Creative Mode inventory or commands.

Breed Two Frogs near Water

The only way to get Frogspawn to appear is to breed two frogs by feeding them Slimeballs. Once the two frogs have finished breeding, one of them will start looking for any nearby full water source block to lay the Frogspawns on. If the frog does not find any water nearby, it will not produce Frogspawn.

You cannot mine or move the Frogspawn after it has been lain.

After a few minutes, Frogspawns in water will hatch into a small cluster of Tadpoles. After they hatch, you can move the tadpoles to different water sources using a Bucket.
